New Years Resolutions

Ok, so we all know that everyone makes New Years Resolutions and then by February we are all 10 pounds lighter chowing down on Valentine's Day sweets.  Well, in order be reminded everyday about my resolutions, I decided to put them in a frame.

Now, at least I won't have the excuse of forgetting what my resolutions are.

A Few Things

Hope everyone had a great short week (at least for those of us who had MLK Day off).  Here is a few things around the web:

Don't Carpe Diem

Beautiful maiden braid

Can I please have this backyard?

What?!? Banana Nutella Bread?!?!  Must try this soon.

Is your city on the list?

Yuan yang is a typical Hong Kong beverage mix of tea and coffee and also a symbol of marriage and love.

Beautiful jewelry from beach stones.

I am loving the new Jason Wu for Target collection.  Classy, yet modern.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Breakfast a la Trashcan

Do you find yourself throwing away food the night before trash day?  I must admit that I am guilty.  There always seems to be some lost tupperware at the back of the fridge each week.  The waste is so terrible.

This video shows how one family gets the majority of their food from the dumpster of grocery stores.  There is also a film called Dive! about rescuing food from the dumpster.  Imagine getting organic food for free!  Besides the monetary savings, think of all the prefectly good food that would be eaten instead of thrown away.

I might just start diving...

Trees

These trees are straight out of a fairytale.  The lighting is just magical.

Sweet Nothings: Start Today

For all those who didn't do New Years Resolutions: better late than never!

Hanging Cradle

How cozy are these hanging cradles?  Cradles are such a nice way for babies to sleep before they move into a full crib, and these would clear up so much space in either a nursery or the parents' room.  Waking up in the middle of the night with your baby hanging above your bed would make nighttime feedings easy easier.  I especially like versatility of the one that can hang or stand.

A Few Things

I know New Years is over, but I am still dreaming of this dress.  Wouldn't it be so fun to wear?  I don't think you could put it on and not feel fierce.  Here are a few other things from around the web:

Mine would be called Sweets.

A river that looks like a tree.

I love me some striped cardigan.

This would have made New Years even more sparkly.

We have started this New Years tradition.  Will you?

Geez...I haven't even read one of 2011's best novels.

I really appreciate numbers 1, 9 and 13 on this New Years Resolutions list for 20-somethings.

This sleeping baby is just so sweet.  If only my little one would let me do that to her.

Hammered necklace.

Have a fabulous weekend.  See you next week.

Do books need us?

This is an interesting article about why we need books.  And whether books actually need us.  I don't think I could survive without books.  It must be the feeling of escape, traveling to another world and time.  I just finished a book last night and shed a tear.  Reading the last page of a great read is always bittersweet.

Plus, I'm smitten with these bookshelf prints.

Backyard Garden

Even though it is the middle of winter, I'm already planning a small vegetable or herb garden in the backyard for spring.

I can smell the fresh basil already.

My Mantra

Don't you just love this print?

It would be a great reminder to glance at in your office.

Plus, it's true.
